Description

Bitcoin hovers near eighty thousand dollars heading into Fed week as rising inflation expectations and a weekend dip below eighty thousand set a cautious tone. Spot Bitcoin ETFs still closed the week positive despite seven hundred seventy-three million dollars in late outflows, while Ethereum ETFs bled two hundred twenty million dollars. Meanwhile, the list of companies objecting to OKXICE's tokenized stock plan grows to twenty-two, with Wells Fargo, Cisco, Marvell, Arm, Intuit, and Moderna joining Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, and McDonald's in saying not yet. We break down why corporate caution isn't necessarily a rejection of tokenization, plus updates on Senator Blumenthal's Tether investigation and the Federal Reserve meeting ahead.

Welcome to Chain Reaction, by Capital Copilot, your daily dose of the latest in cryptocurrency news, market insights, and blockchain trends. Let's get started! Bitcoin is holding near eighty thousand dollars heading into the Federal Reserve's big policy week, while corporate America delivers a resounding not yet to Wall Street's tokenized stock experiment. Let's start with price action. Bitcoin currently trades around eighty thousand one hundred eighty-one dollars after briefly dipping below eighty thousand over the weekend on reports of U.S. Middle East evacuations. Ethereum sits near two thousand three hundred twenty-three dollars. Spot Bitcoin ETFs still closed last week positive, posting a net inflow of three hundred one point two million dollars, but that masked seven hundred seventy-three point five million dollars in late outflows Thursday and Friday combined, led by BlackRock's I B I T fund shedding one hundred ten point three million dollars Friday alone. Ethereum ETFs fared worse, bleeding two hundred twenty point seven million dollars for the week. But the bigger story is tokenization pushback. The roster of companies objecting to OKXICE's tokenized stock plan grew to twenty-two as of Friday, adding Wells Fargo, Cisco, Marvell Technology, Arm Holdings, Intuit, and Moderna to a list already including Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, and McDonald's. OKXICE, the joint venture between OKX and NYSE parent Intercontinental Exchange, originally proposed trading sixty-two companies' shares as tokens settled in stablecoins through Uniswap liquidity pools. Co-chairman Andrew Cuomo called the pushback expected, describing the current framework as, quote, a sandbox, a model demonstration, end quote. Therefore, context matters here. Experts note these objections likely reflect caution, not rejection. Vertalo's Dave Hendricks pointed out most companies had zero notice their stock was being tokenized and face real questions about share custody, dividends, and voting rights. Ava Labs' Olivia Vande Woude noted the opt-out is free while silence becomes irreversible consent, which explains why so many are opting out for now. Notably, Securitize and BitGo are not objecting, betting commercially on the model's growth. Even Nasdaq, while building its own tokenization approach, objected to trading its own shares externally, citing liquidity fragmentation risks. Elsewhere, Senator Richard Blumenthal's investigation into Tether deepened, with records requested by November sixth regarding over six million dollars in payments connected to former White House crypto adviser Bo Hines and potential influence over the GENIUS Act's passage. And heading into Wednesday's Fed decision, University of Michigan data shows year-ahead inflation expectations climbing to four point seven percent, the highest since May, complicating the central bank's path as it weighs December's rate odds, currently priced near seventy-eight percent for a cut. Before we go, here's your charge for the day. The map was drawn by people who stopped moving, so maybe getting lost is just another word for pioneering. That's a wrap for today's edition of Chain Reaction by Capital Copilot. We hope you're feeling more informed and ready to navigate the cryptoverse. Until next time, keep your digital wallets ready!
