Welcome to Chain Reaction, by Capital Copilot, your daily dose of the latest in cryptocurrency news, market insights, and blockchain trends. Let's get started! Bitcoin is sliding toward eighty thousand dollars after failing to hold its bounce near eighty-five thousand, while Arthur Hayes just closed out his entire trading portfolio warning that markets need to go down before they go up. Let's start with price action. Bitcoin currently trades around eighty thousand five hundred seventy-nine dollars, testing support levels we flagged earlier this week between eighty thousand and eighty-one thousand five hundred. Ethereum sits near two thousand three hundred sixty-seven dollars. The drop followed ninety point nine million dollars in derivative liquidations over twenty-four hours, with long positions accounting for nearly ninety percent of that total. Spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a second straight outflow day, shedding one hundred thirty-seven point nine million dollars on Friday after Thursday's six hundred thirty-five million dollar exit, pushing October's net flows negative by roughly three hundred thirteen million dollars. But the bigger signal came from Arthur Hayes. The Maelstrom founder closed his fund's entire directional trading portfolio today, liquidating twenty-two point two eight million dollars in altcoins. He sold six thousand four hundred Ethereum worth fifteen point two million dollars, fourteen million Ethena tokens, and three hundred twenty-three thousand Uniswap tokens. Hayes cited the Saudi missile strike, Brent crude above one hundred thirteen dollars a barrel, and U.S. inflation climbing to three point seven percent as reasons to step aside until, in his words, an all-clear signal arrives. Therefore, regulatory news deserves attention too. The Central Bank of Ireland disclosed that Coinbase Ireland's customer cash safeguarding account fell short by nearly five million euros at its 2024 peak, caused by reporting defects dating back to July twenty twenty-two. Coinbase admitted the breaches, accepted a reprimand, and agreed to a three point two five million euro penalty, pending High Court confirmation. The regulator found no evidence customers lost money or access. On the institutional side, Franklin Templeton added one hundred fifty million dollars of its tokenized money market fund shares to the XRP Ledger, nearly quadrupling its footprint there to around two hundred million dollars total. And New York Attorney General Letitia James is pursuing one point three seven billion dollars from NovaTech's fugitive founders, Cynthia and Eddy Petion, following a default judgment tied to a scheme that defrauded over eleven thousand New Yorkers through prayer groups and WhatsApp messaging. Before we go, here's your charge for the day: What if the pieces you think don't fit together are actually the blueprint nobody else had the guts to assemble? That's a wrap for today's edition of Chain Reaction by Capital Copilot. We hope you're feeling more informed and ready to navigate the cryptoverse. Until next time, keep your digital wallets ready!
