Description

In the world of blockchain, automation brings both power and vulnerability. This week, we explore the ironic downfall of Ethereum's most notorious sandwich bot, the shifting landscape of crypto security as AI makes audits faster and cheaper, and what these technological shifts mean for building human-powered economies rooted in trust. From predatory bots drained of over seven million dollars to AI security tools pushing audit costs toward zero, the crypto world is experiencing a fundamental transformation. We examine how these changes create both risks and opportunities for communities seeking economic sovereignty through Web3 technology. Plus: Bitcoin holds steady near sixty-four thousand dollars despite geopolitical uncertainty, Strategy's preferred stock faces a dramatic meltdown, and developers work to fix privacy vulnerabilities in Bitcoin wallets. Join us as we explore how technology can serve humanity when we prioritize human connection over technical novelty—and discover how you can start building resilient micro-economies in your own community right now.

We explore what it means to live in a world where work, wealth, and wellness flow from who we are - not what we're told to be. Web3 isn't just technology. It's a return to truth - a remembering that our connections are capital, that creativity is currency, and that every act of kindness is data the universe never forgets. So take a breath. Feel your power. And let's tune together - because the future isn't waiting. It's already human. Sometimes karma arrives in code. On June twenty-first, jaredfromsubway dot eth, one of Ethereum's most notorious automated trading bots, lost over seven point five million dollars in a beautifully ironic exploit. This bot had been responsible for roughly seventy percent of all sandwich attacks on Ethereum, costing everyday traders about sixty million dollars annually by inserting itself between their transactions and profiting from the price difference. The attacker was patient and sophisticated. Over several weeks, they deployed fake token contracts and liquidity pools that appeared profitable to the bot's automated systems. When the bot detected these opportunities, it generated approvals for attacker-controlled contracts. Then the trap closed. The attacker exploited those permissions to drain the funds, routing some through Tornado Cash to obscure the trail. The irony runs deep. This predatory bot, operating since early twenty twenty-three using machine-speed pattern recognition to exploit traders, fell victim to similar automated logic manipulation. In May, this same bot sandwiched a token swap by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin himself, investing one point one four million dollars just to profit four dollars. But here's where the story turns hopeful. AI is transforming crypto security. Anthropic recently released Mythos, an AI-powered security tool that can autonomously discover code vulnerabilities, pushing the price of basic audits toward zero. Work that previously required weeks could soon be completed in minutes. These AI systems reason about code intent and compare it to actual behavior, enabling continuous security monitoring with suggested fixes at a fraction of traditional audit costs. Yet technology alone isn't enough. AI cannot replace human auditors for identifying economic and incentive-based vulnerabilities. Many of crypto's largest hacks originated not from smart contract bugs but from social engineering, stolen keys, and manipulated signing processes. This brings us back to the heart of why we build: human judgment, trust, and community matter more than automation. You can start building human-powered micro-economies in your own community right now - join us in driving currency for humankind by visiting us at H U M N dot world. Meanwhile, Bitcoin is holding near sixty-four thousand seventy-six dollars as geopolitical developments unfold. US-Iran ceasefire negotiations in Switzerland have created cautious optimism, though Tehran's renewed threat to close the Strait of Hormuz continues to inject uncertainty. Ethereum trades at one thousand seven hundred forty-six dollars. The future of blockchain isn't just about faster transactions or more complex smart contracts—it's about creating systems that give people more control over their data, finances, and digital lives. When we prioritize human needs over technical novelty, blockchain becomes a tool for building the kind of world we actually want to live in: one where technology serves humanity, not the other way around.
